Please be aware that our Conference venue is at the back of the back of the building which can be accessed via the gate entrance on Köpenicker Straße (please see image below).

Once you pass the gate, after 10 meters you will find the entrance to the Conference Venue on your right.

The closest main stations to Helmchen are Ostbahnof (Sbahn, Bus) and Schlesisches Tor (Ubahn, Bus). From either station, our Conference venue can be reached on foot in ~ 13 minutes.

🚆Public Transport

Berlin’s public transport system (BVG) operates buses, trams, U-Bahn (subway), and S-Bahn (commuter trains). Tickets can be purchased:

 – At ticket machines in train stations and on trams (card/cash payments available)

 – Through apps:

BVG Fahrinfo (Official Berlin transport app) – Tickets & route planning
DB Navigator – For trains and public transport
Jelbi – Mobility app including public transport, scooters, and bikes

– At BVG service centres

– At kiosks or convenience stores displaying the BVG logo

 

🚨Important: Validate your ticket before travel if using paper tickets.

What Tickets we advise to Buy

For a 2-day stay in Berlin, we recommend:

– Berlin WelcomeCard (48h, ABC Zone) – Covers unlimited travel across all public transport, including to/from the airport, and offers discounts on attractions. Price: €28.90

– Day Ticket (Tageskarte, ABC Zone) – Valid until 3:00 AM the next day, allowing unlimited travel (including to/from the airport). Price: €10.70 per day

– Day Ticket (Tageskarte, AB Zone) – Valid until 3:00 AM the next day, covering unlimited travel only in Berlin (excluding the airport). Price: €9.50 per day

– Deutschlandticket – If you already have a Deutschlandticket, all public transport in Berlin (including airport transfers) is covered.

✈️Travelling from BER Airport to Berlin

Train (S-Bahn / Airport Express):

 – Take the S9 (towards Spandau) and exit at Ostkreuz for Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg

 – Take the Airport Express (FEX) or RE7/RE14 to Ostbahnhof for easy access to the eastern area

 – FEX also reaches Berlin Hauptbahnhof in ~30 minutes

Bus:

 – Express Bus X7 or X71 to U-Bahn Rudow, then transfer to U-Bahn line U7

Taxi:

– Costs ~€40-50 to the city centre or eastern Berlin, with a travel time of 30-40 minutes

Rideshare:

– Uber and Bolt are available at BER

Car Sharing:

– Various car-sharing services are available at BER and throughout Berlin, including ShareNow, Miles, and Sixt Share. These services allow flexible rental options, with pick-up and drop-off locations across the city.
