DAVID Systems wins NRK’s top 5 vendor benchmark to enhance Radio Production

Industry benchmark leads Norwegian broadcaster to invest in DAVID’s radio & rich media software.

[Radiodays Europe, Milan, Sunday March 15th, 2015] After a thorough benchmarking of the market offerings from NRK, DAVID Systems expands its footprint with software and services. A multidisciplinary team, including users, evaluated the investment made in DAVID’s DigAS software some 10 years ago against their current mission. Standard vendor benchmarks such as financial health, customer satisfaction and portfolio were included, but innovation standards such as sustainable delivery and agile requirements management were also weighted heavily. The partnership has now expanded beyond the traditional customer-vendor relationship.

Thor Gjermund Eriksen, Director-General at NRK, explains the business importance of the agreement: “Norwegians have a close relationship with NRK; our mandate is to make sure it stays that way in time of transition to digital platforms like DAB+ and the Internet. We also need on our side solid industry partners with agility in technology and services.”

Vincent Benveniste, CEO & Co-owner of DAVID Systems, adds: “We are very proud of this position in NRK’s benchmark; their approach represents an intelligent way of doing business and it strengthens our commitment to provide an evolutionary path (a.k.a. DAVID Platform Evolution or DPE) to broadcasters with a set of application services that they can deploy across their enterprise infrastructure, at their own pace.”

Beyond a renewed long-term service agreement, NRK elected to invest in DAVID’s Management Services (DPE Inside) software, which will ease operations across NRK’s numerous locations and enable collaborative workflow services. Also, DAVID’s OnAIR TrackMixer (OTM) will now be available to all 1400 DigaSystem users for fast, automated content production, voice-overs and last minute changes. Additional areas of collaboration are currently being explored.
