Import to Final Cut Pro
AtomFactory is an extended FTP daemon, which can extract an external QuickTime Reference File and WAV-files out of a MXF container provided by the TransferSystem or an external source. The Final Cut Pro editor opens the new file as a QuickTime file seconds after the first frames are written to the central storage and starts working with the growing file (edit-while-ingest).
In the current system the module is installed locally on the MAC computer and provides the incoming files in a predefined local folder. The FCP editor must know the “Incoming” directory to find this file.
Export
AtomFactory is a plug-in for Final Cut Pro. It fuses and wraps the referenced time line into MXF. The new created file is stored in a folder which is accessible through FTP. AtomFactory is also capable of writing back into the production CMS using the TransferSystem which is triggered by a SOAP interface. Transfer System receives the new file and transfers it to the file server where a new database entry is created.
