Hydrogen Products

Hydrogen is the middleware based IT-framework that enables organizations to simply and effectively integrate broadcast applications and production islands within existing workflow management structures. Originally developed by Silex Media the Hydrogen products have been transferred to the DAVID Systems product portfolio. The result is a highly integrated environment that allows the total enterprise to have better (re)use of the content, producing content faster than before and reducing time to air.

Hydrogen Media Accelerator (HMA)

Faster time to air, automatically preparing assets for edit and playout

Media Acceleration

To speed up the whole production workflow the HMA enables edit-while-ingest functionality. Material can be ingested ingest from various sources including file servers, media servers, NLEs, scheduled feeds and VTRs. While ingesting proxy editing tools can generate EDLs which are sent to the NLEs for craft editing on hires material or to playout servers for immediate transmission.

HMA consists of the central services HMA Ingest, HMA Fuse and other modules with dedicated tasks.

AtomFactory

AtomFactory enables streamlined workflows in heterogeneous MXF environments with edit-while-ingest and playout-while-fusion functionality and with optimized use of the available resources through an intelligent bandwidth management.

Branded as AtomFactory, Hydrogen Media Accelerator has been rewritten specifically for Apple's popular Final Cut Pro. During ingest an external QuickTime file is generated. That way the client can open an "native" QuickTime file with the advantage of being able to edit the media file while the ingest of the growing MXF/IMX files is still in progress. Wherever a Final Cut Pro based production environment must be integrated AtomFactory is the best choice to speed up the workflows.
