Features

Key Features

  • Communication with external applications is done with a watchfolder mechanism based on an order/acknowledge model: External applications put XML order files into the watchfolder and HAC puts an acknowledge file there when the order is finished.
  • Alternatively, requests can be placed using a SOAP interface.
  • HAC inspects the incoming material and stores metadata like type and start timecode. It creates index files during archiving for material where this is needed.
  • HAC is able to do a partial restore, i.e. it is possible to request that only some part of the stored material is called back from tape. For MXF, HAC creates the proper MXF header and footer for the partially restored material.
  • If a full restore is requested, HAC cares about getting the material back to online state before an acknowledge is written, i.e. the external application can always assume that requested Material is online.
